The Portuguese Honorary Consulate in Auckand processes applications for passports, and performs certain notary functions, like powers of attorney and certification of documents issued by New Zealand authorities.

Other services, like birth registration (nationality), marriage registration and ID cards can be provided only by the Consulate-General in Sydney. Some civil registration acts can be carried out by correspondence, but applications for citizen cards require the applicant to appear in person in Sydney.

Request for work or residency visas are also processed in Sydney, but tourist visas (Schengen) can be applied to the French Embassy in Wellington.

Attendance is by appointment. Appointments are normally available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 12:30pm and 2:30pm. To make an appointment, please contact the Consulate by email advising the preferred dates and the service required.
